"Going Green" has become an important cachet phrase both here in the United States and in Europe.
Here are some statistics that will probably shock you but also inspire you.
- The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50 MILLION homes for 20 years
- Each gallon of gas used by a car contributes 19 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere.
- Americans dump 16 tons of sewage into their waters – every minute of every day.
- Eighty-four percent of a typical household’s waste – including food scraps, yard waste, paper, cardboard, cans and bottles – can be recycled.
- Using recycled paper for one print run of the Sunday edition of the New York Times would save 75,000 trees.
- A 1/32” leak in a faucet can waste up to 6,000 gallons of water a month, or 72,000 gallons a year.
- By turning the heat down, Americans could save more than 500,000 barrels of oil each day.
- If all the cars on the U.S. roads had properly inflated tires, it would save nearly 2 billion gallons of gasoline a year.

| If these statistics are startling to you, maybe it is about time that we become the Stewarts of Planet Earth. Join Green Power Management in making a significant difference in the way we treat Mother Earth. |

ELECTRICITY
GPM is proud to be in partnership with Halifax American Energy Company, a non-traditional retail energy marketing company. Halifax American Energy Company provides electricity and natural gas products to the core of our country’s economic engine. Specializing in the commercial, industrial, institutional, municiple sectors, which are our country’s economic engine. Halifax American Energy Company’s unique approach to servicing this sophisticated market is based upon their ability to structure creative, multi-faceted cost saving supply products that capitalize on the full benefits of the wholesale energy markets.
The following two options that are currently available through the Halifax American Energy Company Electricity Program are:
- Fixed Price – provides price certainty for budgeting and low risk tolerance
- Day Ahead – Real Time Price (Wholesale Market Price) – reflects true wholesale cost of power. Over the last seven years, the average price per kWh was $.06 (plus ancillary costs); this is a dramatic discount from non-wholesale purchase price.
NATURAL GAS
The following two options that are currently available through the Halifax American Energy Company Natural Gas Program are: |
|
- Fixed Price – provides price certainty for budgeting and low risk tolerance
- Daily Market Index Price – commodity components are fixed at the market’s index price. Moves customer’s price closer to wholesale market costs.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT
CleanStream™ is a fully automated continuously cleaned media filtration system. The CleanStream™ System is carving out a niche for itself in wastewater treatment. With no peer in tertiary filtration, CleanStream™ provides a less expensive alternative to membrane micro-filtration. For phosphorus restricted discharge basins and reclamation projects in arid, coastal, and highly populated environs, CleanStream™ is the cost effective solution.
- CleanStream™ reduces total effluent phosphorus to exceed US Government Standards
- Small footprint and modular design makes CleanStream™ a natural for upgrades or new construction.
- Continuously cleaned sand beds eliminate the need for mud wells, clear wells, and backwash pumps.
- Filtration and disinfection are performed in one step, eliminating the need for chlorine contact tanks.
- Ozone is the disinfection method used providing complete pathogen removal with no by products.
 AUTOMATIC METER READING SYSTEM
The TClarity @ TC 900 Mobile Automatic Meter Reading System is highly versatile and capable of working with most Utilities; Water, Gas, and Electric meters.
The TClarity TC 900 is designed for walk-by and drive-by reading systems but can also operate with sub metering applications
- Connects to a wide variety of meters and register types
- Compatible with all popular route management and billing systems
- Easy to install and configure
- Water leak detection and tamper alarms
- Data Logging options
- Rugged and waterproof
- Extended battery life
- FCC license exempt
WATER METER
The SM700 Smart Meter is a state-of-the-art technology water meter that has no moving parts. SmartMeter is not affected by the wear and subsequent accuracy problems that are caused by grit and particulates, thereby ensuring accurate measurement of water flows.
The SmartMeter SM700 20 and 30 gpm intelligent water meter is NSF61 Certified and compliant with the AWWA C713 standard for fluidic oscillation water meters. SmartMeters have received global acceptance because of their superior accuracy and Dr. Neil Furmidge, Technical Director from Severn Trent said, “ The SM700 meter represents yet another technological development and our designed to satisfy the diverse range of requirements from the many companies worldwide that metering their customer water needs”.
MICROTURBINE
Combined heat and power (CHP), also known as cogeneration, is an efficient, clean, and reliable approach to generating power and thermal energy from a single fuel source. CHP is not a specific technology but an application of technologies to meet an energy user's needs. CHP systems achieve typical effective electric efficiencies of 50% to 70% — a dramatic improvement over the average efficiency of separate heat and power. Since CHP is highly efficient, it reduces traditional air pollutants and carbon dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas associated with climate change, as well. The CHP system can produce the same electrical and thermal output at 75% fuel conversion efficiency as compared to 49% for separate heat and power. This is a 50% gain in overall efficiency, resulting in a 35% fuel savings.
Specifically, microturbines are small electricity generators that burn gaseous and liquid fuels to create high speed rotation that turns an electrical generator. Today’s microturbine technology is the result of development work in small stationary and automotive gas turbines, auxiliary power equipment, and turbochargers, much of which was pursued by the automotive industry beginning in the 1950s. Microturbines entered field testing around 1997 and began initial commercial service in2000. The size range for microturbines available and in development is from 30 to 350 kilowatts (kW). Microturbines run at high speeds and, like larger gas turbines, can be used in power-only generation or in combined heat and power (CHP) systems.

Eco-Power Hedge - We offer the services needed to create a renewable energy hedge also known as a "Contract for Differences" (CFD) hedge agreement. The CFD hedge is a secure financial tool which enables energy users and renewable energy producers to come together and control their costs. Because it is a financial swap and not a power purchase the hedge agreement does not interfere with energy purchases at any time. It is simply a great way to cap energy costs and utilizing renewable energy sources.
Halifax-American Energy Company is an agent for South Jersey Energy. Established in 1973, SJE is the oldest and largest energy marketer in the mid-Atlantic region with over 80,000 customers. South Jersey Energy has licenses to operate as a competitive electric power supplier in the New England states as well as New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
HEMS Technology is a home/office wireless energy conservation network that benefits everyone. This unique product allows a user to control/monitor and eliminate unnecessary use of energy, thus saving 20 to 30% on monthly energy consumption.
H2O Solutions is a fully automated, highly efficient solution for wastewater treatment. The system has lower O&M costs, minimal energy needs, elimination of residual hauling, easily incorporated into most existing facilities, modular design, small footprint and minimal greenhouse gas emissions.
TClarity/ST Smart Meter Water Meter is the 21st century water meter and AMR solution for recording nearly 100% of flow to maximize revenues and minimize unaccounted for water. This system is guaranteed for 5,000,000 gallons of water or 10 years to meet manufacturer specs.
